What counts as a smile makeover when we price it?
For pricing, a smile makeover is any plan that changes the colour, shape or line of the teeth you show when you smile, usually the upper six or eight. It is built from a short menu: cleaning, whitening, composite or porcelain veneers, sometimes a crown, occasionally gum reshaping or aligners. Nothing more mysterious than that.
I am deliberately not writing another essay on what a makeover is; the smile makeover overview page does that. This page is for the person holding two or three quotes from clinics around Vaishali, Indirapuram or Mayur Vihar, trying to work out why one says sixty thousand and another says one and a half lakh. Usually both are honest. They are simply pricing different numbers of teeth in different materials, and neither has written that down clearly.
Here is a quick test you can do at home. Stand in front of a mirror and give the broad smile you give in wedding photos, not the polite one. Count the upper teeth you can see. For most people it is six to eight, a few show ten. That count, more than anything, sets your budget.
Smile makeover cost in Ghaziabad: what does each part cost?
Each component has its own price at our clinic, and a makeover is just these lines added up. Cleaning costs ₹1,500–₹2,500, in-clinic whitening ₹4,000–₹5,000, composite veneers ₹8,000–₹12,000 per tooth and porcelain veneers ₹12,000–₹20,000 per tooth. The tooth count multiplies the veneer line, which is why it dominates every quote.

Two things you will not find on that list: a package discount I have made up for this article, and a per-tooth price for gum work. Gum contouring depends on how much tissue, how many teeth and what lies underneath, so I would rather quote it with the mouth in front of me.
Example: a 6-tooth smile makeover, built line by line
A six-tooth composite makeover with cleaning and whitening comes to roughly ₹53,500–₹79,500 at our list prices. Switch the same six teeth to porcelain and it becomes about ₹77,500–₹1,27,500. Below is the composite build, line by line, so you can see exactly where the money goes.
Who this suits: healthy teeth, a slightly yellow shade, a couple of chipped edges, maybe a small gap between the two front teeth. This is the profile I see most often from working couples in Indirapuram and Vasundhara who want a visible change without having enamel trimmed. If you only have one or two chipped teeth and no colour complaint, you do not need six veneers at all; repairing a single chipped tooth costs a fraction of this.
Example: an 8-tooth makeover with one problem tooth
An eight-tooth porcelain plan, where one front tooth has had a root canal and turned grey, comes to roughly ₹1,04,500–₹1,62,500 at list prices. The grey tooth gets an E.max crown instead of a veneer, because a thin veneer often cannot hide a dark tooth underneath. Eight teeth suits wider smiles.
The crown line is where my endodontic training gets fussy. A front tooth that went dark years after an injury or an old root canal is darkening from the inside. Before I put anything on it, I want an X-ray to check that the root canal is sound, because an infected tooth under a new porcelain crown is an expensive mistake. If you want the longer argument on when a tooth needs a crown rather than a veneer, veneers vs crowns: cost and lifespan covers it.
Here are the four common combinations side by side, all including cleaning and whitening:

Composite vs porcelain: which suits a package budget?
Composite costs less per tooth, needs little or no drilling and can be repaired, but it picks up stain at the edges and needs polishing over the years. Porcelain costs more and needs some enamel trimmed, but it holds colour better. For most budgets under a lakh, composite on six teeth is the realistic choice.
The survival numbers are closer than most people expect. A 2023 review of randomised trials found composite and resin veneers survived 88% of the time over two to eight years, with roughness, colour mismatch and edge staining as the usual complaints. For porcelain, pooled studies show about 92% survival at five years. The figure I find more honest is from real-world NHS records in England and Wales, where 53% of porcelain veneers were still going without any re-intervention at ten years. Lab studies and everyday mouths are not the same thing.
Composite package
- ₹8,000–₹12,000 per tooth
- Usually one or two long sittings, no lab wait
- Little or no enamel removed, so it is reversible
- Edges can stain with daily chai; polish at each cleaning
- A chipped corner is patched, not replaced
Porcelain package
- ₹12,000–₹20,000 per tooth
- Two or three visits with a lab stage in between
- Some enamel is trimmed; you are committed for life
- Better colour stability and gloss over the years
- A fracture usually means remaking that veneer
A few patients use composite as a test drive: live with the new shape for a year or two, then move the most visible teeth to porcelain once the budget allows. Sequence: what goes first in a smile makeover?
The order is cleaning, then whitening, then a short wait, then veneers or bonding matched to the new shade, and crowns last. Whitening only works on natural enamel. If the veneers go on first and you whiten afterwards, your natural teeth get lighter and the veneers stay exactly where they were.
- Aligners, if needed, come before everything. If the real problem is crowding, veneers are the wrong tool; trimming crooked teeth to look straight removes far more enamel than necessary. Clear aligners vs veneers explains that trade-off.
- Cleaning next. Tartar off and gums settled so they are not swollen when we judge the gum line.
- Whitening. If sensitivity worries you, ask for a gentler gel. A 2020 review found that lower-concentration peroxide caused less sensitivity than 35% gel with similar colour as judged by patients.
- About two weeks of wait. This is our practice: the shade settles after whitening, and we match veneers to where it lands, not to the day-one result.
- Veneers and bonding, then any crowns. Gum contouring, when it is needed, is done before the final veneers so the edges sit on a stable gum line.
How long does a smile makeover take?
A composite makeover usually takes two to three weeks from cleaning to the final polish, most of it waiting after whitening. Porcelain takes about four to five weeks because of the lab stage. If aligners are needed first, add months, not weeks. Plan backwards from any event.
Chair time is smaller than people fear. Six composite veneers is typically one long sitting or two shorter ones. Porcelain means a preparation visit with temporaries, then a fitting visit once the lab work returns. We are open till 8 PM every day and from 9 AM on Mondays, which is what most of our office-going patients from Kaushambi and Noida Sector 62 end up using. If you are working to a wedding date, read the pre-wedding whitening timeline before you book anything.
Staging the cost over a few months
Yes, a smile makeover can be done in stages, and for many families it is the sensible way. Cleaning and whitening come first and cost the least. The most visible teeth follow, then the rest. You pay for each stage as it is done, and the plan stays the same throughout.
- Stage 1: cleaning and whitening, ₹5,500–₹7,500 at list prices. Some people stop here and are happy.
- Stage 2: the two central incisors, or the four front teeth, in your chosen material.
- Stage 3: the remaining teeth in the smile line, matched to stage 2.
If months pass between stages, natural teeth can drift a shade darker again with chai and turmeric. We may suggest a whitening top-up before the final stage so the new veneers are matched to clean, settled teeth. Porcelain from different stages also has to be matched carefully by the same lab.

Smile makeover FAQs
How much does a smile makeover cost in Ghaziabad?
It depends on how many teeth and which material. Built from our list prices, a six-tooth composite plan with cleaning and whitening is roughly ₹53,500–₹79,500, and an eight-tooth porcelain plan is roughly ₹1,01,500–₹1,67,500. Indicative cost for patients at our Vaishali clinic; your final cost is confirmed only after the doctor examines you.
How many teeth are included in a smile makeover?
Usually the upper six or eight, because those are the teeth most people show when they smile broadly. Some wider smiles show ten. Lower teeth are often only whitened, not veneered.
How long does a smile makeover take?
About two to three weeks for a composite plan and four to five weeks for porcelain, most of it waiting for the shade to settle after whitening or for lab work. Aligners, if needed first, add several months.
Composite or porcelain for a smile makeover?
Composite costs less, needs little or no drilling and can be patched, but its edges stain over time. Porcelain holds colour better and costs more, and it needs some enamel trimmed. For most budgets under a lakh, composite on six teeth is the realistic choice.
Is a smile makeover painful?
Cleaning and composite veneers usually need no injection or only a little. Porcelain preparation is done under local anaesthetic. Whitening can cause short-lived sensitivity, which a gentler gel and a sensitivity toothpaste help.
Can I do it in stages?
Yes. Cleaning and whitening first, then the most visible teeth, then the rest, paying for each stage as it is done. If there is a long gap, a whitening top-up before the final stage keeps the shades matched.
