Denture cost: India vs USA, full and partial
Dentures are priced per arch (upper or lower) and by how many teeth are missing. A complete denture replaces every tooth in an arch; a partial denture fills gaps around teeth you still have, on an acrylic, flexible or cast-metal base. US pricing is unusually wide because clinics tier dentures as economy, mid-range and premium — so compare like for like.
Every rupee figure on this page is an indicative cost at our Vaishali, Ghaziabad clinic — international patients pay the same clinical prices as local patients, with travel and stay itemised separately. Your final quote depends on how many teeth are missing and is confirmed only after Dr. Bandhavi reviews your records and X-rays.
What about US dental insurance?
Most US dental plans class dentures as a major prosthodontic service and cover about 50 per cent, after a waiting period and subject to an annual maximum that is commonly $1,000–$2,000. In practice that means a $3,000 set of dentures still leaves you paying $1,500–$2,000 out of pocket, and a second arch in the same year is usually uncovered entirely. Medicare does not cover dentures at all. Against ₹30,000–₹60,000 (≈$360–$720) for both arches at Indian prices, the gap holds even after insurance. Every denture, wherever it is made, uses broadly the same acrylic and cast-metal materials — the price difference is clinic overhead and lab fees, not a different product.
What a denture trip from the US actually costs
Dentures or implants — the question worth asking
Removable denture
- ₹15,000–₹30,000 per arch
- One trip, 5–7 days
- Comes out for cleaning; may need relining over time
- Lowest upfront cost
Implant-supported denture
- From ₹1,00,000 per arch, several implants
- Needs healing time — usually two trips
- Stable, no slipping when eating or speaking
- Higher upfront cost, decades of use
A well-fitted removable denture is a proven, affordable solution for many patients, but a loose or slipping denture is one of the most common complaints we hear from patients who had one made cheaply elsewhere. If stability while eating and speaking matters most to you, our dentures vs implants comparison walks through both routes honestly, including the All-on-4 option for a full arch.
How the visits work
Visit one: impressions of your gums and remaining teeth are taken and a bite registration confirms how your jaws meet. A wax try-in follows a day or two later so you can check shade, shape and fit before the final denture is processed — this step is what separates a denture that looks natural from one that does not. The final denture is fitted and adjusted at the last visit. A 5–7 day trip covers all three comfortably.
A recent panoramic X-ray from your US dentist lets us confirm the plan and quote before you book flights. Dr. Bandhavi, MDS (Endodontics), is registered with the Delhi Dental Council (Reg. A-15692) — check any clinic you compare the same way.

Frequently asked questions
How much do dentures cost in India compared with the USA?
A complete denture costs Rs 15,000-30,000 per arch in Delhi-NCR, about $180-360, against $1,000-3,000 per arch for a mid-range denture in the US and $4,000-8,000 for premium sets. Partial dentures cost Rs 12,000-35,000 per arch. These are indicative figures, confirmed after examination and X-rays.
How many days do I need in India for dentures?
Five to seven days. Impressions are taken on day one, a wax try-in follows a day or two later to check fit and shade, and the final denture is fitted at the last visit.
Will my US dental insurance cover dentures made in India?
Almost never directly. Most plans cover about 50 per cent of dentures from in-network US providers, capped by an annual maximum of roughly $1,000-2,000, and exclude overseas treatment. Budget as if it is fully out of pocket; the Indian price is usually still well below your post-insurance cost at home.
Should I get a denture or an implant-supported denture?
A removable denture is the lower-cost, faster option and works well for many patients. If slipping while eating or speaking is a concern, implant-supported dentures (from Rs 1,00,000 per arch) hold firmly in place but need healing time and usually two trips. Your X-ray and bone condition decide which suits you.
How long do dentures last?
Five to eight years is typical before a reline or a full remake is needed, because your gums and jawbone gradually change shape. Removing and cleaning them daily, and not sleeping in them, both extend a good fit.
What if the fit needs adjusting after I fly back to the US?
Minor adjustments and relines can be done by any US dentist, and we share your full records – impressions, bite registration and materials – so they are never working blind. Early fit problems are rare and covered by our remake policy; ask for the terms in writing with your quote.
