Denture cost: India vs UK, full and partial
Dentures are priced per arch (upper or lower), and by how many teeth are missing. A complete denture replaces every tooth in an arch; a partial denture fills gaps around teeth you still have, usually on a cast metal or flexible base. Both are quoted as a full course, not per tooth, which is why comparing like-for-like matters more here than almost anywhere else.
Every rupee figure on this page is an indicative cost at our Vaishali, Ghaziabad clinic — international patients pay the same clinical prices as local patients, with travel and stay itemised separately. Your final quote depends on how many teeth are missing and is confirmed only after Dr. Bandhavi reviews your records and X-rays.
What about the NHS?
Dentures fall under NHS Band 3, a fixed charge of about $430 per course of treatment — genuinely good value, if you can get an appointment. NHS dentistry’s well-documented access shortage means many patients cannot find a practice taking new NHS patients at all, and NHS dentures are typically a basic acrylic build with limited choice of tooth shade or shape. Private clinics quote $810–$2,700 for a single complete arch, and $1,600–$5,400 for a full set of both — against ₹30,000–₹60,000 (≈$300–$600) for both arches at Indian prices, with more flexibility on fit and finish than an NHS-only route. Every denture, wherever it’s made, uses broadly the same acrylic and cast-metal materials — the price gap is clinic overhead and lab time, not a different product.
What a denture trip from the UK actually costs
Dentures or implants — the question worth asking
Removable denture
- ₹15,000–₹30,000 per arch
- One trip, 5–7 days
- Comes out for cleaning; may need relining over time
- Lowest upfront cost
Implant-supported denture
- From ₹30,000 per implant, several per arch
- Needs healing time — usually two trips
- Stable, no slipping when eating or speaking
- Higher upfront cost, decades of use
A well-fitted removable denture is a proven, affordable solution for many patients, but a loose or slipping denture is one of the most common complaints we see from patients who had one made cheaply elsewhere. If stability while eating and speaking matters most to you, our dentures vs implants comparison walks through both routes honestly, including the All-on-4 option for a full arch. Send your X-ray and Dr. Bandhavi will tell you which fits your case and your budget.
How the visits work
Visit one: impressions of your gums and remaining teeth are taken and a bite registration confirms how your jaws meet. A wax try-in follows a day or two later, so you can check the shade, shape and fit before the final denture is processed — this step is what separates a denture that looks natural from one that doesn’t. The final denture is fitted and adjusted at the last visit. A 5–7 day trip covers impressions, try-in and fit comfortably.
A recent panoramic X-ray from your UK dentist lets us confirm the plan and quote before you book flights. Dr. Bandhavi, MDS (Endodontics), is registered with the Delhi Dental Council (Reg. A-15692) — check any clinic you compare the same way.

Frequently asked questions
How much do dentures cost in India compared with the UK?
A complete denture costs Rs 15,000-30,000 per arch in Delhi-NCR – about 135-268 pounds – against 600-2,000 pounds privately in the UK. Partial dentures cost Rs 10,000-20,000 per arch. These are indicative figures, confirmed after examination and X-rays.
How many days do I need in India for dentures?
Five to seven days. Impressions are taken on day one, a wax try-in follows a day or two later to check fit and shade, and the final denture is fitted at the last visit.
Are NHS dentures cheaper than travelling to India?
On paper, yes – NHS Band 3 is a fixed 319 pounds. In practice, many patients cannot find an NHS dentist accepting new patients, and NHS dentures offer limited choice of shade and fit. Against private UK prices of 600-2,000 pounds, the India route is usually significantly cheaper even including flights and hotel.
Should I get a denture or an implant-supported denture?
A removable denture is the lower-cost, faster option and works well for many patients. If slipping while eating or speaking is a concern, implant-supported dentures (from Rs 30,000 per implant) hold firmly in place but need healing time and usually two trips. Your X-ray and bone condition decide which suits you.
How long do dentures last?
Five to eight years is typical before a reline or a full remake is needed, since your gums and jawbone gradually change shape over time. Removing and cleaning them daily, and not sleeping in them, both extend how long a good fit lasts.
What if the fit needs adjusting after I fly back to the UK?
Minor adjustments and relines can usually be done by any UK dentist, and we share your full records – impressions, bite registration and materials – so they are never working blind. Genuine early fit issues are rare and covered by our remake policy; ask for the terms in writing with your quote.
