Clear aligner cost: India vs the UAE
Clear aligners are priced per case, not per visit: the fee covers your 3D scan and treatment plan, every aligner tray in the series, the tooth-coloured attachments placed at the start, refinement trays if teeth need extra correction, and your first retainers. The gap between countries is not the plastic — the major aligner systems manufacture to the same standard worldwide — it is the professional time wrapped around it.
Every rupee figure on this page is an indicative cost at our Vaishali, Ghaziabad clinic — international patients pay the same clinical prices as local patients, with travel and stay itemised separately. Your final quote is confirmed only after Dr. Bandhavi reviews your records and X-rays.
The honest part: aligners are the hardest treatment to fly for
We say this plainly because it filters out the wrong plans before they start. An implant or a crown compresses into one or two visits — aligner treatment does not. You wear each tray about two weeks, for six to eighteen months. Nobody should fly to another continent every fortnight, and no honest clinic will suggest it.
What actually works is the model we run for international patients: your records, scan, treatment plan and attachments happen in one trip of about a week. You leave with your first sets of trays, the rest are couriered as manufacturing batches complete, and progress is checked remotely with photo check-ins at each tray change. One optional second visit handles refinements and final retainers — or a local dentist can supervise the finish. The full playbook is in our guide to starting aligners in India and continuing back home.
A note on UAE coverage: mandatory health insurance in Dubai and Abu Dhabi treats orthodontics as cosmetic, so aligners are almost never covered — the $2,700–$5,450 quoted in UAE clinics is a genuine out-of-pocket figure for most residents. The UAE–Delhi route also makes this the easiest version of the start-in-India model anywhere: the flight is about three hours, so tray-change reviews can even happen in person over a weekend.
What a start-in-India aligner case actually costs
Aligners or braces — and does the answer change abroad?
Fixed braces
- Lower cost — ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 in Delhi-NCR
- Handles severe crowding, rotations and bite correction
- Needs in-person adjustment visits — poor fit for tourism
- Visible, with food restrictions
Clear aligners
- From ₹1,50,000 in India vs $2,700–$5,450 in the UAE
- Removable and nearly invisible
- Remote-friendly: photo check-ins between tray changes
- Needs 20–22 hours of daily wear, every day
For an international patient the deciding factor is usually supervision, not looks. Braces need hands-on adjustment every few weeks; aligners are the only orthodontic treatment that can be responsibly supervised from another country. If your case is too complex for aligners, the honest answer is to have braces at home — and we will tell you that from your records before you book anything.
Who is and is not a good candidate
Aligners handle mild to moderate crowding, spacing and relapse after old orthodontics extremely well. Severe rotations, large bite discrepancies and cases needing extractions are better in fixed braces. The screening is simple: send clear photos of your teeth and any X-rays you have, and Dr. Bandhavi’s team will tell you which category you are in — and the realistic tray count and fee band — before you spend anything on travel.
Aligner outcomes depend on the treatment plan, not the box the trays arrive in. Dr. Bandhavi is registered with the Delhi Dental Council (Reg. A-15692). Whatever clinic you compare, check the clinician’s registration the same way.

Frequently asked questions
How much do clear aligners cost in India compared with the UAE?
A full course starts from about Rs 1,50,000 in India (≈$1,500) against $2,700–$5,450 in the UAE — typically a 40–65% saving on the treatment fee. These are indicative figures; the exact fee depends on how many trays your case needs and is confirmed after your scan and records are reviewed.
Do I have to stay in India for the whole treatment?
No, and you should not plan to. Treatment runs 6 to 18 months. The workable model is one setup trip of about a week for records, attachments and your first trays, then remote supervision with photo check-ins while the remaining trays are couriered to you. One optional second visit covers refinements and final retainers.
Is Invisalign in India the same product as at home?
The major international aligner brands manufacture to the same specification worldwide, and well-established Indian aligner systems use the same class of medical-grade plastics and 3D planning software. What varies between clinics is the treatment planning — which is why the clinician’s credentials matter more than the brand.
What happens if I lose or crack a tray abroad?
You move to the next tray early or wear the previous one, depending on where you are in the two-week cycle, and message the clinic straight away. Replacement trays can be remade and couriered. This is a routine event in remote aligner care, not an emergency.
Will my dental insurance cover aligners done in India?
Usually not directly — most plans treat adult orthodontics as elective, and overseas treatment is typically excluded. Check your policy’s orthodontic rider. Even uninsured, the India fee is usually well below the out-of-pocket cost at home after partial cover.
How do refinements work from another country?
About half of aligner cases need refinement trays at the end — extra trays that fine-tune stubborn teeth. A new scan or impression is needed, which can happen on a short second visit or via a local dentist who forwards the records. Budget the possibility into your plan; the refinement trays themselves are part of the course fee at our clinic.
