TL;DR

A single dental implant with a crown costs about ₹25,000–₹60,000 in India, versus CAD $3,000–$6,000 in Canada. A full arch (All-on-4) is ₹3–6 lakh in India against CAD $20,000–$35,000 per arch in Canada. That is roughly a 65–85% saving — on the same internationally recognised implant brands.

Canadian dental implants are not covered by provincial health plans or the new Canadian Dental Care Plan, so most patients pay the full price out of pocket — which is exactly why a growing number of Canadians compare that bill against getting the same implant, from the same global brands, in India. Here is a clear 2026 cost comparison and what actually drives the price.

What is included in the price

A complete implant quote in India usually covers the titanium implant, the abutment, the CBCT scan and the crown — typically zirconia for a natural look. In Canada, quoted prices commonly cover the same three parts, but confirm this: Canadian clinics sometimes quote the implant and abutment separately from the crown, which can make a like-for-like comparison harder than it looks.

Like-for-like tip.

When comparing quotes, match three things: the implant brand (Nobel Biocare, Straumann and similar are used in both countries), the crown material, and whether the CBCT scan and any extraction are included. A cheaper-looking quote that swaps in an unbranded implant system is not the same product.

Why the price gap is so large

The hardware is identical — the same implant systems are sold worldwide. What differs is clinic rent, lab costs, staff salaries and the absence of Canadian dental-insurance-driven pricing. That is why the saving holds even after adding flights and a hotel stay for most single- or multi-tooth cases.

!
Plan for the healing gap.

An implant usually needs 3–6 months to fuse with the bone before the final crown is fitted. Most patients get a temporary restoration on the first trip, fly home, and return for the permanent crown — so treat this as a two-trip plan, not one.

A worked single-implant example

Single implant + zirconia crown — all-in (Canadian patient)
Implant, abutment & zirconia crown₹50,000
CBCT scan & surgeryIncluded
Return flights (Toronto ⇄ Delhi)₹90,000
Hotel, 3 nights₹15,000
All-in India total≈ ₹1,55,000 (~CAD $2,500)
The same implant is CAD $3,000–$6,000 in Canada before you even add a crown separately in some clinics.

Frequently asked questions

Is a dental implant trip from Canada to India worth it for one tooth?

For a single implant the travel cost is a bigger share of the total, but most Canadian patients still save 60% or more even after flights and a hotel. The saving grows fast if you need more than one implant or a full arch.

Are the implant brands used in India the same as in Canada?

Reputable Indian clinics use the same globally recognised systems — Nobel Biocare, Straumann and similar — with the same certification. Always ask for the brand and batch number in writing.

How many trips does a dental implant in India need?

Usually two: implant placement on the first trip, then the permanent crown after 3–6 months of healing on the second. Simple single-tooth cases with good bone are sometimes completed faster — your CBCT scan decides.

Does the Canadian Dental Care Plan cover implants done abroad?

No. Implants are excluded from the Canadian Dental Care Plan at every income level, so the comparison in this guide is out-of-pocket cost in both countries.
