The short answer
- All-on-4 / All-on-6 / full-mouth implants → usually one trip of 8–12 days (with fixed temporary teeth fitted the same week).
- Single or multiple implants → two trips: a short 3-day placement visit, then a return after 3–4 months of healing for the crown.
- Veneers, crowns, smile makeover → one trip of 5–9 days.
- Root canal, cleaning, fillings → 1–3 days.
Why some treatments need two trips
Implants fuse with your jawbone over 3–4 months — a process called osseointegration. For a single tooth, the crown can only be fitted once that bond is solid, which is why placement and crowning are often split into two visits. Full-arch options like All-on-4 work differently: a fixed temporary bridge is attached the same week, so you fly home with teeth and return (or have the permanent bridge coordinated) later.
Sample itineraries
Single implant (two trips)
- Trip 1 (3 days): consultation + CBCT scan; implant placement; review and fly home.
- Trip 2 (4 days, after 3–4 months): review and impressions; crown fitting; final check.
All-on-4 (single trip, ~9 days)
- Day 1: consultation, CBCT, blood tests; Day 2: extractions + implants + same-day fixed teeth.
- Days 3–7: recovery on a soft diet, with time to see Delhi or Agra.
- Days 8–9: review, adjustments, aftercare pack, fly home.

Getting it done in Delhi-NCR: dental implants at our Vaishali clinic.
How long do I need to stay in India for dental implants?
For a single implant, plan a short 3-day first visit for placement, then return after 3–4 months for the crown. All-on-4 is usually completed in one 8–12 day trip with same-day fixed teeth.
Can dental implants be done in one trip?
Full-arch options like All-on-4 and All-on-6 are typically one trip because fixed temporary teeth are fitted the same week. Single implants usually need two trips to allow the implant to fuse with the bone.
How long do veneers or a smile makeover take?
Usually one trip of 5–9 days, allowing time for design, tooth preparation, lab fabrication and final fitting.
When can I fly home after surgery?
Most patients fly 2–3 days after implant placement and after All-on-4 once the temporary teeth are settled. We provide a written aftercare plan for the journey.
Do I need to come back for the permanent bridge after All-on-4?
The permanent bridge is fitted a few months after healing — usually a short return visit, or we coordinate the records with your home dentist.
